Tenor sueco, nacido en Stora Tuna en 1911. En 1916
forma un cuarteto vocal junto con su padre y dos hermanos, y actúa por el
mundo entero. Debuta en 1930, como el farolero de Manon
Lescaut, en la Ópera Real de Estocolmo. Canta en los
principales escenarios del mundo, convirtiéndose en favorito del
Metropolitan. Es uno de los mejores tenores de la primera mitad del siglo.
Fallece en 1960.
